This expedition is coordinated by Ph.D. researchers who are all working towards the conservation goal of wildlife conservation which includes endangered species such as peccaries, anteaters, and tapirs. You will experience both the Pantanal and Bodoquena/Bonito Atlantic/Cerrado Forest landscape. Join us and get hands on experience with the researchers while also enjoying the eco-tours. You will not be disappointed when you take your first step into the lodge and are immediately greeted by macaws and capybaras. - RESPONSIBILITIES
As a traveler/ volunteer with the Pantanal/Bodoquena expedition you will have some of the following responsibilities:
- You will have several activities per day, these can be experiencing other projects or learning about the local culture, and even enjoying a relaxing night safar..
- Other field research activities and monitoring wildlife in the area.
- A diversity of activities and tasks such as monitoring and collecting native fruits or exploring new locations to implement experiments as part of the long term neotropical monitoring project.
- Various tasks and jobs.
- Bird and wildlife viewing in the Pantanal and highlands.

Some of the requirements for this project are:
- Taking a Portuguese course before arrival (optional)
- A strong work ethic is required: reliable, responsible, dependable, honest and with a good sense of humor. You must be physically it and comfortable with the arrangement of living in a remote location.
- 12+ (if you are a minor you to travel with a teacher or parent).
- No experience required but must be willing to learn and try new things.
- Have a possitive attitude.
- Driver’s license (optional).

Day 1 - Arrive in Campo Grande, Pantanal Brazil;
You will arrive in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul where you will be transferred from there to the projec site (3/4 hours drive).
For 1 week - Scientific tourism at the Ecological sanctuary and explore the Pantanal! -
For several weeks you will work along an amazing team and get involved in the day to day activities at the project!

Meals
Local cuisine and food Drinking water, is available throughout the day. You may also purchase sodas and beer from the store.
Breakfast consists of a huge diversity of cakes, fruits and cheese and milk are from the Lunch and dinner offers an amazing diversity of food, local cuisine, and there is always vegetarian dishes
Tourists will dine in a very quaint outdoor restaurant at the Lodge with the family, researchers and other visitors.
The program is situated in the Southern Pantanal located in a region of Central West Brazil with expansive wetlands. A three hour drive from Campo Grande, this is an eco-lodge and cattle ranch, in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, located along one of the main rivers of the southern Pantanal, Rio Aquidauana. You will also be staying in a quaint Airbnb in the Bonito/Bodoquena highlands; and enjoy the regional food at a local restaurant. Travelers will enjoy comfortable accommodations, delightful regional meals, well-coordinated expeditions and scientific researchers and expert naturalists sharing the natural beauties of the region. This trip provides a different view and experience that will immerse the traveler in an adventure and deeper understanding the amazing natural environments of the Pantanal and the Bodoquena Mountain Range region.
