Dog sledding Adventures!
We at FRONTEERING like to offer volunteer abroad projects that differ from the majority of offered projects throughout the world! If you are looking for something different this year why not volunteer abroad at a dog sledding ranch in beautiful Canada! Our husky dog sledding ranch projects are great volunteer opportunities for those who love the outdoors, are crazy about dogs and who always wanted to learn all there is to know about dog sledding! Fronteering currently works with four different dog sled volunteer abroad projects all which are located in some the most amazing natural places throughout Canada.
During the winter season all our dog sled ranches give you the opportunity to dogsled on a regular basis and to assist with dog sled tours and training while during off seasons you will be able to assist training the huskies by for example ATV and bicycle. All though winter is definitely the most interesting season to volunteer at as you will be able to dog sled, spring and summer are by no means less fun! During the off seasons you will have lots of time to take care of the huskies, take them for a walk or a bicycle ride or enjoy your time in the middle of nature surrounded by forests, lakes and many different species of wildlife including bears, eagles, coyotes, wolves, elk and moose.
Of course not all the time is spend caring for the huskies and dog sledding as you will have to help with many different tasks as for example maintenance, getting fire wood, preparing food and anything else that is necessary to keep the project running. It is important to keep in mind that it is hard work and days can be long and cold especially during winter, this definitely no easy holiday but it is for sure a great volunteer abroad experience! Fronteering does not work together with any dog sled ranches that cull their dogs.
